Movie posters are created with the intention of advertising films. As the name suggests, horror movie posters are posters advertising horror movies. Horror movie posters have been around since the earliest public exhibitions of horror movies. They were used as placards listing the horror movies that were being shown in the theater. It was in the early 1900s, that horror movie posters began to feature illustrations of scenes from horror movies.

Hand painted crates and sandwich boards were the first forms of movie advertising. However, the turn of the century saw the introduction of posters with vibrant colors and pictures and limited words. These old movie posters were used to promote a variety of products and services, including the early cinema.

Comedy rules the box office this weekend with "Talladega: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby at number one. Just the name sounds like the movie should go down into legendary status. There is no stopping the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie which is at number 3 this weekend after 5 weekends. It's total coming in at $379,709,000.

Miami Vice is number one this weekend with over 25 million dollars in a weekend. Pirates was hanging strong in it's 4th week at number two with over 20 million.

Ninja Reviews Pirates of the Caribbean

Ok you've probably already read a lot of reviews on Pirates
of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest
but you've probably not seen one with so much hand movement. This guy is pretty angry about the movie, probably because there were no ninjas in it. So take what he says with a grain of salt. Personally, I think the movie will be cool. I'm going to wait and buy it on DVD though.

Here's the new Miami Vice movie trailer with the new version of "In the Air Tonight" by Nonpoint. It's pretty good, but Phil Collins is still the king of this song that's probably been redone more than any other song from the 1980's.

Pirates of the Caribbean II is still plundering the box office at number one this week, and Superman is still hanging in the top ten at number 8 bringing his total to over 178 million. Doesn't look like the Man of Steel will make more than his Mutant competition the X-men but things are looking ok for a sequel as there has been some talk about a sequel already.
