Jet Li Posters Jet Li DVDs

Jet Li Unleashe Review written by By T.S. Johnson

For Jet Li fans Unleashed will not be a disappointment. It has all the necessary elements to keep his fan-base happy: fights, fights and more fights. But Unleashed offers something else Jet Li fans may not have been expecting from their favorite superhero…acting. Yes Jet Li actually acts in this new film something we have rarely seen from him in his American endeavors but definitely a nice surprise.

Box Office for Last Weekend in October 2005

New Movies | Super Heroes

Zorro got beat this weekend by a Halloween type movie named "Saw" which to me is a little disturbing. Apparently, their weren't a lot of families out this weekend. Internationally "The Legend of Zorro" made more on it's opening weekend than the first one. Personally, I will probably wait for the DVD and buy it for home viewing, but if you happen to got to the movies this coming weekend, I don't you could go wrong viewing Zorro. After all Zorro is in a class with classic almost super hero type characters like the Lone Ranger and the Three Musketeers.

Movie Poster Collecting

There is a great deal of history behind movie posters and movie poster collecting. Jules Cheret, who created 2 movie posters in the 1890's, was the artist given credit for creating the first movie posters. By the end of the first decade of the 1900's, movies had become a great source of public entertainment. In this time period, the movie poster would become a standard size known as the one sheet measuring 27" x 41".

Tom Welling's the Fog Rules Box Office

New Movies | Superman

This week's box office was ruled by Tom Welling in the new movie "The Fog" making over 12 million dollars over the weekend. Welling may be on his way to becoming a major motion picture star with no worries over being type cast as Clark Kent in Smallville.

Tales of the Broke and Famous by Stephen Schochet

Here's another cool article from Stephen Schochet

"Beverly Hills is a place where you spend a lot of money you don't have to impress a lot of people you don't like!"- - Anonymous Hollywood Producer

If the rumors are true that Michael Jackson's lavish life style has left him broke, he would not be the first famous celebrity in financial straights. John Wayne found himself in hock after 150 movies.

Tales of Hollywood and Politics by Stephen Schochet

Here's a cool article I found by Stephen Schochet about politics in Hollywood from the early days. It must have been written about the same time Arnold ran for governor.

Tales of Hollywood and Politics

Arnold Schwarzenegger's surprise announcement that he was seeking the California Governorship brought to mind the many times Hollywood figures have been involved in politics. Here are some related anecdotes:

When actors first came to Hollywood there were signs put up in front of hotels and apartments that said no dogs or actors allowed, with the performers ruefully complaining about not getting top billing. The insecurity of the profession has come through in political campaigns. When Ronald Reagan successfully ran for Governor of California in 1966 one of the fruitless tactics used by his opposition was a television commercial featuring Gene Kelley stating," In films I played a gambler, a baseball player and I could play a Governor but you wouldn't really want an actor to really be a Governor would you?"

Animation Movies...where to? by Vlad Balan

Animation Movies...where to? by Vlad Balan

If we take a look at the recent releases, there is no major movie based on 2D animation. Is 2D animation worn out, or just not commercial enough? Even if those classic animations are always a pleasure to watch, you have to admit that the modern animation is more attractive. They are more real, and people seem to love that. If we take a look at the box office, we see 2 animation movies in top 10 (Shrek 2 and Finding Nemo) with 1,7 billion dollars revenue. That is amazing. And for both movies CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery) was used.

Wallace & Gromit Review

New Movies

Wallace and Gromit control the box office this week, and we've found a review for those of you thinking about taking your kids to go see it. Sounds like a good movie.

"If you're in the mood to laugh yourself silly, Wallace & Gromit's "Curse of the Were-Rabbit" is a jolly good show for the whole family.
