Super Hero Box Office Battle

Batman | Super Heroes | Superman

It looks like once the smoke has cleared over the super hero box office war this summer that Batman has indeed beaten the Fantastic Four. Yes, all four of the super heroes were no match for Batman Begins! Batman has made it over the 200 million dollar range which would be a record for the Caped Crusader except for the very first major motion picture focusing on Batman starring Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton still holds the title as the Bat Champion. The Tim Burton movie made a awesome 251 million dollars!

This Weekend's Box Office

Nothing really all that great out this weekend. The Dukes slip from 3 to number 8. A kids computer animated movie suprisingly comes in at number 6. The movie "Valiant" about some cartoon birds, I would have expected to take the top position instead of "The 40-Year-Old Virgin which came in at number one. I guess August isn't the time of year of kid movies.

Kung Fu Hustle Review

dvd reviews

First thing to do when watching the Kung Fu Hustle DVD is be sure to set the language. The initial setting is in the original language with subtitles. Personally, I go with English. I don't want to waste time reading subtitles in an action movie.

James Bond No More!

James Bond

52 year old Pierce Brosnan who started his reign as James Bond at age 42 has announced he will no longer be playing 007 James Bond. Brosnan says he's grateful to have had the role, but adds: "It never felt real to me. I never felt I had complete ownership over Bond. Because you'd have these stupid one-liners which I loathed and I always felt phony doing them." Bronsan's next movie will be "The Matador" where he will be playing a hit man. Let me say personally, I thought Brosnan was the perfect Bond. In fact I always thought he should have been James Bond before Timothy Dalton had even gotten the role. It's a shame he won't be playing the role anymore.

New King Kong DVD Coming!

dvd reviews | SCI-FI Blogs

The director of the new King Kong remake is helping put some great bonus materials together for a DVD of the 1933 original Kong. One part of the cool bonus material will focus on the "spider pit" sequence that was deleted from the movie before it was released theatrically. There has been speculation as to whether or not the footage actually existed. The Kong documentary on the DVD will explain what it was and spotlight a recreation of it.
