Super Heroes | Superman
The Fog stars Tom Welling as Nick Castle and Maggie
Grace as Elizabeth Williams. Tom Welling is the star of the WB's
Smallville. He plays a young Clark Kent before he moved to Metropolis. The
Fog seemed a lot like a episode of Smallville complete with it's usual
music choices. Maggie Grace was recently killed off of the very popular
show Lost on ABC. Her Lost TV step brother Boone played by Ian Somerhalder
also met the same fate dying off of Lost. He coincidentally, played a
character named Adam a few seasons ago on Smallville.

I highly recommend the Legend of Zorro dvd! It's got
the expected Zorro swashbuckling sword play, explosions, and a awesome
train scene. It's hard to compare it to the first Zorro with Antonio
Banderas. I'm tempted to say it may not been quite as good, but it would
be close. I'll have to watch it again to be sure.

with 28 million big ones. This is Martin Lawrence's biggest movie since
Bad Boys 2 which also starred Will Smith.

New Movies
This weeks box office was taken over by matrix like
vampires and werewolves in Underworld Evolution. It was followed by two
other cool looking movies Hoodwinked, and Glory Road. It's about time
there was a motivational sports movie made. Seems like the Rocky, Karate
Kid type films haven't been around for quite a while.

The Great Raid stars Spiderman's James Franco as
Captain Prince a real life hero from World War 2 who lead a courageous
raid to save captured American soldiers from the Japanese.
The movie is very patriotic in tone, but it's more of a historical piece than
a John Wayne
flag waver. It's authenic, realistic, and respectful to the real life soldiers
and heroes of World War 2. If action is your ownly reason for watching movies
you may be disappointed just a little. This movie is mostly story driven and is
for those of us who love history. Still the ending is very action packed filled
with explosions, gunfire, etc. The good guys win in the end. Just the way I like
a movie.

Please enjoy this article by By Robert Sprackland on
King Kong 1933 and 2005.
Those of us who are 82 years old or older might remember the premier of a
novel motion picture. While many movies during the Great Depression aimed to
provide good feelings and a ray of hopeful sunshine into devastated lives, this
particular movie had a somewhat different effect on the audiences. When people
got their first glimpse of the giant ape called Kong, pandemonium broke out in
the theater. People unintentionally mimicked sacrifice Ann Darrow (played by
almost constantly screaming Fay Wray) and panicked. Like Darrow, they screamed,
some fainted; others ran to the aisles and out of the theater.

Transporter
Jason Statham is the Transporter, Frank Martin. More
so than the first Frank Martin comes off as a super hero on this one.
There is even a scene where a bad guy refers to Frank as a super hero.
I personally love super hero movies so I won't complain too much.

New Movies
This weekend "King Kong" took an unexpected fall for
a couple of more notches to number 7. "Chronicles of Narnia" still hanging
in the top 5 at 4. A family friendly animated flick "Hoodwinked" takes the
top spot at number one and a awesome looking basketball movie, "Glory
Road" takes the second spot. At the risk of getting blasted by special
interest groups, I'm surprised the Brokeback Mountain has remained in the
top ten for another week. I guess all that constant advertising and
pulling from just about everywhere has paid off for the over-hyped latest
Hollywood liberal machine. John Wayne is probably rolling over in his
grave, pilgrims. Normally, a flick that hovers toward the bottom of the
top ten having never entered the top 5 would be considered a total flop,
but obviously Hollywood loves this film, so it could make two dollars and
be declared the greatest thing since swiss cheese. That's just my
observation. You really do have to wonder what the Duke would have to say
about it since he was the king of westerns. It probably wouldn't sound
very pretty.

Will Smith
Here's a new movie review for the movie Hostel. I
can understand Robert's opinion. I might go even farther to say
personally, I hate most horror movies. Gore isn't scary it's just warps
the mind! Seeing people suffer is just not my bag of tea. I don't think
Hollywood has truly made anything that is actually scary since the old
Twilight Zone TV show. It's scary when you don't know what's going to
happen to a character that you actually can identify with or care about.
Call me crazy, I think there should be at least some thought put into a
movie. Anyway here's Robert Crane's review on Hostel.
