Boy, the box office race was tight this week between the Ape and the Lion, namely King Kong and Chronicles of Narnia, but Narnia reclaimed the number one spot it lost to Kong over two weeks ago.

We all have seen the original King Kong Movie probably more than once and so you ask why should you go see the New Remake of King Kong? Well let me tell you this movie is much different than the original and the graphics and special effects will literally blow you away.

King Kong and Chronicles of Narnia hold on to the top two spots, both making just a little over 30 million dollars. Kong managed to squeeze out a vistory. Both movies are excellent in my opinion, but I think Chronicles got a lot of lift from the Christmas season with it's family and Christian background. Chronicles after all was written by the famous Christian author C.S. Lewis and has lots of Biblical symbolism.

King Kong 2005 makes all previous Kong's pale by comparison. This is no man in a monkey suit nor is it cartoonish like cgi. It feels like your there with the monsters, bugs, and dinosaurs. It takes a little to get started, but your hanging onto the edge of your seat before you know it. Read my

King Kong took the box office this week with over 50 million over the weekend and 66 million for the whole week. Sure it was a little off of studio estimates who expected over 60 million for just the weekend, but it's a three hour movie without a book or comic book following. Of course everyone has heard of Kong and once the good reviews and fellow movie goer word of mouth gets out, I expect this movie to keep raking in for the entire holiday season and well into January.

This week Chronicles of Narnia takes over the box office with 67 million dollars over the weekend. It was the second biggest weekend opener for a movie since the Lord of the Rings Return of the King back in 2003.

I just saw Chronicles of Narnia last night, and I was blown away! I'm not usually that much into fantasy sword and sworcery kind of films, not counting the Lord of the Rings which was also really good, but this film rocked. It not only takes care of your action and special effects needs, but there are is a lot of deeply spiritual Christian symbolism woven into the movie that may require a bit of thought to get it all. So if your the kind of person who likes action, or you like to think a little bit this one is for you.

Casino Royale, the 21st James Bond film, is due to start shooting shortly and is to be released November 2006. It is already a hot topic amongst fans of the 007 franchise, with the new Bond, Daniel Craig, generating much debate amongst fans.
