1. "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," $20.2 million.
2. "I Am Legend," $16.4 million. 3. "Juno," $16.2 million. 4. "Alvin and the Chipmunks," $16 million. 5. "One Missed Call," $13.5 million. 6. "Charlie Wilson's War," $8.2 million. 7. "P.S. I Love You," $8 million. 8. "The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep," $6.3 million. 9. "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," $5.4 million. 10. "Atonement," $5.1 million. The sequel to National Treasure Book of Secrets has been number one already for 3 weeks in a row. That's a difficult thing to do in today's movie market. Of course there hasn't been any big new movie releases since the Christmas season. Alvin and the Chipmunks still hanging in there at number four with a very respectable 16 million. After 4 weeks, interestingly enough this movie has yet to hit number one and probably won't but it's total gross is way up there at $176,738,000. This movie may come really close to the 200 million dollar mark if it can hang on for a couple more weeks. Last week it had risen from 3 to number 2 taking a spot away from Will Smith's movie, I Am Legend, but this week I Am Legend goes back to number 2 with $16,300,000 bringing it's total to $228,638,000. It's also in it's fourth week. |
