In Iron Man's first weekend at the box office, it pulled in an estimated $100.75 million in North America alone. "Iron Man's" U.S.-Canadian haul fell just shy of the $114.8 million grossed by "Spider-Man" in the first weekend of May 2002 -- a tally that stands as the biggest domestic opening ever for a non-sequel film.

The movie has been reported to have cost 150 million dollars to make, and 75 million to promote. The film also scored overseas with $96.7 million in 57 countries where it began opening on a Wednesday, putting its worldwide total at $201 million in it's first week of release.

Marvel has set April 30, 2010, as the release date for "Iron Man 2" and confirmed that it will not have a new film out for 2009.

"Thor" is slated for June 4, 2010. Marvel also is planting its feature film stakes for 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer.

"Because Marvel believes that the summer is the optimal time to launch a new property, the company will not release a self produced film in 2009," the company said.

Samuel L. Jackson is reported to appear as Nick Fury appear after the end of the credits.  Some viewers have reported though that they did not see the Nick Fury scene at the end of the credits. A lot of fans are completely surprised and excited about the scene as it reportedly foreshadows the Avengers movie that now looks to arrive in theaters summer 2011 right after Captain America.
