Clive Staples Lewis was born on November 29 in
Belfast, Northern Ireland, to Albert J. Lewis (1863-1929) and Florence
Augusta Hamilton Lewis (1862-1908). His brother Warren Hamilton Lewis
had been born on June 16, 1895. He lived to be 64 years old and died
one week from his 65th birthday.
C.S. Lewis was a tutor at Oxford University,
England and later the chair of Medieval and Renaissance English
Literature at Cambridge University, England. He wrote apologetics,
science fiction, children and adult fantasy, and much more. Lewis
wrote from his Christian faith.
